Dishonored: Knife of Dunwall DLC has been revealed.
Set in the fictional city of Dunwall, Dishonored follows Corvo Attano, bodyguard to the Empress. Assassins show up and kill the Empress, and then teleport away before the other guards show up. Corvo is blamed for the murders and must become an assassin, seeking the truth of who was behind the killings.
Corvo Attano is granted supernatural abilities which allow him to get creative with the way he kills, adding a sense of nuance to the scenario. The resistance group known as the Loyalists aid him in his quest.
In the Knife of Dunwall DLC, Corvo Attano has avenged the Empress’ death, and you get to don the cloak of the man who killed her. Spoilers may be present in this story, so be warned. Dishonored: Knife of Dunwall DLC is due on April 17. 2013 for $10.
The Knife of Dunwall DLC plops you into the boots of the dastardly Daud, armed with new weapons and powers as you head off on a merry adventure of your own. Along the way you find Bone Charms and Runes, hidden but revealed using the “Void Gaze” ability, and call on the aid of other assassins. Old powers are revamped, and new weapons include Chokedust and a Wristbow which has a variety of different properties of ammo.
According to the press release for Dishonored: Knife of Dunwall:
“After assassinating the Empress, and forever changing the fate of Dunwall, you embark on a search for redemption. The Outsider reveals the key to your atonement, but who–or what–is Delilah? Accompanied by the Whalers, your loyal band of mercenary assassins, your search will take you through never-before-seen districts of Dunwall as you face off against new and terrible foes … In the struggle to hang onto the last shred of your humanity, the choices you make will ultimately determine your fate.”
