PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720 may both hit the shelves in November, according to a developer for Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag.
The next-generation Sony and Microsoft videogame consoles should both be here by the end of 2013, suggests Jean Guesdon, a creative director for Assassin’s Creed‘s latest installment. Guesdon hinted at the release date for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox 720 when asked about the next-generation versions of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag.
Jean Guesdon said that the next-generation editions of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag will apparently be on the “same ship,” indicating no delays between the versions for PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720. Unknowingly, Guesdon was unleashing the rumor that the two systems would both be released in November.
Jean Guesdon said:
“We have a strong engine, you know, we have AnvilNext and we are always pushing the limits. So this year again we are ready to support such new capacities, new abilities. So the game will be ready for that but also, you know, we make it for current-gen obviously from a certain point.”
Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is due on “every available platform” in the US on October 29, and in the UK on November 1.
At the PlayStation 4 event not too long ago, Sony announced a ‘Holiday 2013’ PlayStation 4 release, but hasn’t confirmed which territory/territories the date applies to.
The Xbox 720 announcement has yet to be solidified, but it is expected in April, and only then will we truly know when Microsoft’s next-generation console is on its way.
Can we trust Jean Guesdon’s hint at the release of both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720 in November? Only time will tell, but early adapter gamers everywhere are on the edge of their seats in anticipation. We’ve seen what the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 can do, so the idea of a console that can push the envelope even further is drawing a collective hush. Gamers want to know what they have to look forward to.
Do you think Jean Guesdon was merely guessing at the simultaneous releases of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720 in November?
