Dodge Ram Challenge: truck advertising meets internet show

ramchallenge

Dodge is seeking to drive buyers to the declining truck market through a new internet series, the Dodge Ram Challenge that combines an internet based reality series with infotainment.

The Ram Challenge brings four teams together to drive Dodge Ram trucks through various obstacle courses, with the winning team taking home a Ram truck. Each episode is featured exclusively on a dedicated website ramchallenge.com. The series is being backed up through extensive advertising, highlighting each team in the challenge.

The first episode went live tonight, and although the tie-ins to the product dilute the show some what, the production quality is high, and it may just find a regular audience, at least among those people who like doing things with trucks.

  1. Great video – I always love to go to these truck shows – it's neat to see the new innovations they come up with.

  2. I almost cannot watch football anymore because of these annoying, idiotic ads. Guess they're trying to appeal to the dull witted yahoo market.

  3. The On-Air broadcast commercial trailers for Dodge Ram Truck webisodes are disturbing. Two men looking at a side bed compartment of a pick-up truck say, “That’s pretty frickin’ cool”. We all know that frickin’ is a substitute for the F-Bomb. I will not let my nine and eleven year old sons say that word. I coach youth football and will not tolerate the kids or coaching staff to say that word. Am I wrong? Does society think say “frickin” is alright? Why do we tolerate saying that word on broadcast television?
