Morrissey ‘Rickrolls’ David Bowie, Sort Of [Photo]

Morrissey has found himself a new target: David Bowie.

The English singer and activist always has a feud of some kind brewing, and apparently decided to start a new one with another iconic singer, David Bowie.

Last week, Morrissey dissed Madonna by calling her “McDonna,” (bashing her stage persona as a distraction from her apparent lack of vocal talent), and most recently got into a beef (pun intended) with Jimmy Kimmel regarding his animal rights activism. Morrissey demanded the talk show host to dis-invite the stars of Duck Dynasty from his late night program, which caused a very heated war of words between the two on Twitter.

But that’s not all! Morrissey also recently attacked Paul McCartney, saying that the Beatle should “return his knighthood” to the Queen of England (Morrissey is also a vocal critic of the Royal family). Rounding out Morrissey’s hit-list is singer Beyonce, whom he criticized for wearing handbags made of animal products.

So it’s been a busy couple of months for Morrissey, but he always seems to have room on his plate for another celebrity dust-up. The 53-year-old recently added David Bowie to his list of celebrity enemies.

Bowie’s sin against Morrissey is that he recently refused to be included in the art for a re-release of his single, “The Last of the Famous International Playboys.” Morrissey wanted to use a previously unseen photo of Bowie on the re-issue of the 1989 single, but Bowie didn’t want anything to do with it.

Instead, Morrissey decided to include a photo of “Never Gonna Give You Up” singer Rick Astley in place of Bowie. This pretty much amounts to an effective “Rickrolling” of the Thin White Duke.

So far as we know, Bowie has not responded to Morrissey’s celebrity feud invitation, probably because he’s busy promoting his first album in 10 years and can’t be bothered. The Next Day, by the way, is now streaming for free in iTunes.

Morrissey’s celebrity enemy list includes Madonna, Beyonce, McCartney, Kimmel, and now David Bowie, apparently. Here’s the single art, let us know what you think:
