Mom Arrested For Using Stun Gun On Teen Son

Pflugerville, TX – A Texas mom was arrested after she allegedly used a stun gun to discipline her teen son.

According to court documents, 4-year-old “K” told her teacher last week that her 14-year-old brother got into trouble and was stunned four times by their mother, 32-year-old Kimira Hysaw.

When police questioned the little girl, she took a pink crayon and drew what appeared to be a stun gun. She then told police that the “taser” was kept in mommy’s purse. “K” went on to say that her brother went to play basketball without permission, and, when he got home, their father held him down as their mother “tased” him on the arms, back, legs, and head.

Police questioned another sibling and were told that the brother often doesn’t come home but gets “tased” when he does.

Officers interviewed the teen and noticed that he had bruising and burning consistent with stun gun marks. Hysaw said she only used the stun gun to threaten her son because “he is a handful.” She was arrested over the weekend but has since bonded out.

Michael Cargill, a gun store owner who sells stun guns for self defense, was appalled to learn that Hysaw used it on her son.

“You touch a person with this stun gun it’s going to burn the skin, you’re going to smell burnt skin and it’s probably going to make you urinate,” Cargill said. “It’s a terrible thing that someone would actually use that to discipline their child.”

A spokesperson for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services said in a case like this, CPS would try to find appropriate family or family friends to care for the children while they work to ensure the children’s safety.

Stun gun attacks on family members are, surprisingly, not as uncommon as one might think. In November, a pregnant woman used a stun gun on her mother 15 times. She then proceed to steal her mother’s engagement ring, cash, and credit cards. She allegedly used a ski mask to conceal her identity during the attack, but a witness was able to pull the mask off as the woman and her companion were leaving the scene.

In an unfortunate reversal, a pregnant woman was tasered by police after she illegally parked in a handicapped space. The woman said she was not actually parking but had stopped to console her young daughter. Officers, however, prevented her from moving from the space and wrote her a $200 ticket. She began arguing with the police and ripped up the ticket before getting back in her car. She said one of the officers tasered her through the window and that they laughed about the incident, saying she deserved it. She later filed a complaint of excessive force.

What do you think should happen to the mom who used a stun gun on her son?
