Eddie Murphy And Judge Reinhold Reunite To Reprise ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ Roles

Eddie Murphy And Judge Reinhold Reunite To Reprise 'Beverly Hills Cop' Roles

Eddie Murphy is back with his Beverly Hills Cop c0-star Judge Reinhold as the actors reprise their roles from the 80s action film.

The stars have both signed on for cameos in the pilot for the new Beverly Hills Cop television show, which CBS will be airing as a pilot. Eddie Murphy will be taking on his role as Axel Foley, the unconventional and wise-cracking detective, while Reinhold will play by-the-book detective William “Billy” Rosewood, TheWrap reported.

Though he’s making a jump to television, Eddie Murphy is still making movies as well. After a long string of poorly reviewed and low-grossing films, Murphy is trying to ride the momentum of the Beverly Hills Cop return and try his hand at reviving another 80s comedy. Murphy has also signed on to star alongside Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger in a sequel of the hit 1988 comedy Twins, the Guardian noted.

“Arnold and I recently had dinner with Eddie Murphy and we all got along great so I think it will definitely happen with the three of us,” Devito said. “Universal have taken the reins so it’s their movie. Whether it’s called Twins 2 or Triplets hasn’t been decided yet but I’d be up for doing it in a heartbeat. But I’m just so busy right now, I can’t say when.”

The new Beverly Hills Cop will focus on Axel Foley’s son, Aaron Foley, played by Brandon T. Jackson. Eddie Murphy will reportedly be appearing as the father figure.

Like the original film from 1984 and its subsequent sequels, the television version of Beverly Hills Cop will be an hour-long police drama with comedic elements.

It is currently in pre-production, with no timeframe on when it will appear on television, so it appears that fans will have to wait a bit longer to see Eddie Murphy and Judge Reinhold reunited.

huh? its not even out yet…how do you know if it's funny? or are you talking about one of the highest grossing actors/comedians of all time?

Everything written here are BAD ideas for these fading stars! The TV show will be terrible and the worse decision Schwarzenegger ever made was getting back into the movies. His light was already fading fast the last few films he made before entering politics. Returning now and making a sequel to Twins 25 years later, BADDDDDDDDDDD idea! These aging stars are getting some bad inspiration from Stallone. Just because he has the Expendables series going does not mean he or these other old action stars can make other hit movies anymore. It isn't going to happen!

Dean Gruginski He was the highest grossing actors of the 80s, not the 2000s and certainly not this decade. Did you see the returns on A Thousand Words or Tower Heist? The last BH Cop was almost 20 years ago and it was a flop.So you think a Beverly Hills Cop TV series starring Brandon T Jackson (of Big Momma's House 3) is going to be a hilarious hit?

Didn't Mr Devito pass away.. That's a little inappropriate Mr Nathan Francis, the "poster".

I LOVED Edie Murphy! He's also super-handsome. He'd be fantastic in a dramatic role, let alone with a tasteful touch of comedy.

I am delighted! Alex Foley was one of my favorite characters for Eddie. But I am not happy with the "cameo" billing. I would rather they both played larger roles.
