Kate Middleton Having Baby Girl? Slip Of The Tongue Hints At Sex Of Baby

Kate Middleton didn’t say that she was having a baby girl… but she almost did.

The Duchess of Cambridge was at an event in England this week when a member of the public gave her a teddy bear.

Kate smiled, thanked the commoner, and told the audience that she couldn’t wait to give the bear to her daughter.

Well, Kate didn’t quite say daughter.

According to Yahoo News, Middleton stopped just short of revealing that she was having a baby girl.
Sandra Cook, who was in the audience at the time, said that she heard Middleton start to say daughter.

Cook said:

“I distinctly heard her say ‘thank you, I’ll take that for my d …’ then she stopped herself. I said to her: ‘You were going to say daughter weren’t you?’ and she said ‘No, we don’t know.’ I said, ‘Oh I think you do,’ to which she said: ‘We’re not telling.'”

Most parents would be happy to have a boy or a girl but there’s a little extra pressure on the sex of the royal baby. Up until this year, the first born son was considered to be next in line for the throne. Kate Middleton and Prince William had this rule changed, however, so that their first born child (girl or boy) will be the next in line to rule over England.

Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg said:

“People across the realms of the Commonwealth will be celebrating the news that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting their first child. We can also all celebrate that whether the baby is a boy or a girl, they will have an equal claim to the throne. (The new law will write down) what we agreed back in 2011 – that if the Duke and Duchess Cambridge have a baby girl, she can one day be our Queen even if she later has younger brothers.”

Middleton may, or may not, know the sex of the baby but she does know that the future ruler of England is starting to move around a lot. When asked if she could feel the baby moving, Middleton said: “Yes, it is. Very much so.”
