‘X-Men’s’ Famke Janssen Hopes To Star In ‘The Wolverine’


Famke Janssen has revealed that she hopes to star in the upcoming X-Men movie, The Wolverine, where she would reprise her role as Jean Grey.

Whilst talking to Total Film, Janssen was asked about rumors that she would appear in a cameo in the movie, which is scheduled for release on July 26, 2013, to which she stated, “I heard! I’m very excited about those rumors,” before falling into a fit of laughter.

The actress then added, “After a three-year hiatus and not being able to work because I was developing my own movie, and roles are welcome. So I hope X-Men 10 comes around, with Jean Grey in a wheelchair.”

Janssen was making reference to the character of Professor Charles Xavier, played by Patrick Stewart, of the X-Men film series, who is a paraplegic mutant.

The actress made her directorial debut in 2011, with the drama Bringing Up Baby, which was selected 8 film festivals across the United States, including the Nashville, Savannah, and Newport Beach events.

Janssen played the character of Jean Grey for the franchise’s first three instalments.

Last week it was announced that Halle Berry will “almost certainly” reprise her role as Storm from the X-Men series in, X-Men:Days of Future Past.

The sequel to is the sequel to X-Men: First Class, which acted as a prequel to the original film series. Bryan Singer is set to return to the director’s chair, replacing Matthew Vaughn.

A report forIndiewire claimed, “Earlier today I spoke with Halle Berry for an interview that will appear on S & A next week. But to give you a tease, the first thing I did ask her was whether she would be returning as Storm in the next X Men movie, X-Men: Days of Future Past …”

It then added, “Well, she did confirm to me that she would be returning in the role. Most likely. Practically 90% sure. And she nodded a lot too.”
