Usher Raymond: Arrest Made In Stepson’s Death

A suspect has been arrested in the death of Usher Raymond’s stepson.

Authorities explained that Jeffrey Simon Hubbard was arrested at his parents’ home on Friday morning. The suspect was reportedly arrested without incident. According to Yahoo! News, arresting officers described the man as “cooperative.”

The website explains that a grand jury in Hall County, Georgia indicted Hubbard on a number of charges. The suspect is currently facing homicide by vessel, serious injury by vessel, and reckless operation of a vessel charges for his role in the death of Usher’s stepson.

CNN explains that police have yet to reveal any details regarding why Hubbard was arrested in connection with the 11-year-old’s death. He is currently being held without bail. He is expected to go before a judge this weekend.

Usher Raymond’s stepson Kile Glover was riding in an inflatable raft with a friend when they were struck by a jet ski operated by Hubbard. Although the young girl riding with Kile survived the accident, the boy later died as a result of the brain injuries he received during the accident.

The singer told Oprah last September that he deeply missed his stepson. According to Hollywood Life, Usher Raymond also said he attended the funeral and the burial contrary to what has been reported.

Usher explained:

“Kile was a great part of my life, we cooked together, we laughed, we played, we sang, he loved to sing, he loved to tell jokes. You can’t imagine how hard it was.”

At the time of Kile’s death, Usher and ex-wife Tameka Foster were in the middle of a custody battle over their two sons. Raymond and Foster were married for two years.

Usher Raymond has not commented on the arrest of Jeffrey Simon Hubbard. Despite attempts from several media outlets to contact the singer, his publicist has yet to respond.
