Nicki Minaj Fires Makeup Team?
Nicki Minaj has had it with the plastic surgery rumors that have been swirling around her for at least a week. This morning, Amy Everett for Entertainment Wise reported that Minaj has fired her entire hair and makeup “glam” team.
The rumor appears to have originated with Gordon Smart, “Showbiz” editor for the UK tabloid, The Sun. Smart’s anonymous source claimed: “She’s fired her long-standing hairdresser who has been responsible for some of her crazy hairstyles over the years. She’s also fired her stylist.”
Gregory Wakeman for The Inquistr reported Thursday on Nicki Minaj’s repudiation of the rumors that she’d had any cosmetic surgery done on her face. He also noted that she made no comment about whether or not she’d had work done on her rear end, also a popular topic of speculation for the rumor mill.
According to Just Jared, a celebrity photography site, she was busy Friday strolling the “pink carpet” at a West Hollywood event, where she was promoting her new KMart Collection. The line will feature accessories as well as clothing. She wore a baby pink — almost white — dress to that event which seemed to be inspired by an old-fashioned whalebone corset, a style that showed off plenty of cleavage.
And it was just a couple of days ago that Fay Strang for UK tabloid Daily Mail reported on a behind-the-scenes look at the shooting of her video, “Freaks,” which showed the singer essentially topless except for gold stars glued over her nips.
You see, Minaj isn’t just a pretty face or a nice uplifted derriere. It’s high time that the public sat up and took notice. She’s so much more than that. She’s got a great rack too.
But Nicki Minaj has been all over the place lately. As Dan Evon reported yesterday, the rumors have also been flying about whether or not she can keep up with her American Idol gig while working on a video and then a new album to further her music career. The Sun’s unnamed source said that she wants to be taken “seriously” as a hip-hop artist. And, of course, she has her new fashion line for KMart.
