Michelle Williams split up with boyfriend Jason Segel, and the pair — who were widely lauded as a cute and sweet couple — are said to have called it quits due to the hassles of a long-distance relationship.
Michelle Williams split from Jason Segel after nearly a year of dating, and initial news of their relationship was well-received, particularly due to the fact that the actress has been raising daughter Matilda on her own since the death of partner Heath Ledger.
Both Williams and Segel are well-liked, low-key sorts, and not much was reported about the pair during their relationship. Yesterday, The Inquisitr reported on rumors of a break-up, describing what appeared by all accounts to be a solid and happy bond between the two:
“The split of Segel and Williams comes as a bit of a shock. Out of all the couples that slip in and out of relationships, this one above all seemed to be carefully crafted. The two, who have mutual friends including Michelle’s friend Busy Philipps, met at a party and began dating quickly after that. In many photos, the pair seemed to have created a family unit, especially with Michelle Williams’ daughter Matilda, who she had with late boyfriend Heath Ledger.”
After news of Michelle Williams’ split from Segel, the star was spotted out on the red carpet by the New York Post. The paper reports:
“Looking polished and smiling ear-to-ear for the cameras, Williams continued promotional duties with her Oz the Great and Powerful castmates James Franco and Mila Kunis in Moscow … In one shot, the 32-year-old blonde was giggling in her black minidress and star-print pumps. Williams plays Glinda, the Good Witch, in the Wizard of Oz prequel.”
Before Michelle Williams split from Jason Segel, the pair did get a place in Brooklyn together — but the pad was damaged badly in Hurricane Sandy.
