Joss Whedon Talks ‘Avengers 2’ And ‘Hulk’ Movie

Joss Whedon has been discussing his work on the sequel to the ridiculously successful, The Avengers, plus he has also thrown in his own thoughts on a possible solo Hulk movie.

Whedon stated the following about The Avengers 2 when asked what we can expect from it, “Death, death, and more death. I can’t do it any bigger, so I’m trying to do better.”

The Buffy The Vampire Slayer creator also vented his feelings on a possible Hulk movie. When asked if it was possible he answered, “Yes,” before adding, “but it would be very, very hard.”

Whedon even uttered, “Hulk is a tricky son of bitch. He’s the Claudio of superheros.”

“The problem is he is a very popular character, but he’s not a superhero. Half of him is a superhero, half is a werewolf. You can’t structure it like a superhero movie,” the director noted.

Whedon added, “The one thing you have in you favour would be Mark Ruffalo. But right now I don’t know if they have plans to do that or not, because he works so well as part of a greater whole. By himself, it’s tough.”

Joss even revealed that he holds sympathy for Ang Lee and Louis Leterrier, the two directors who attempted to make Hulk movies before The Avengers, however both were roundly criticised, proclaiming, “I don’t envy the guys who went before.”

Guillermo del Toro is reportedly working on a Hulk television series, which has been placed on hold.
