Laura Dern Talks Returning For ‘Jurassic Park’ Sequel

Laura Dern

In the beginning of the year we reported that Jurassic Park 4 looked like it was finally getting itself off the ground after spending years stalled. Now with Steven Spielberg on board to producer with Universal Pictures, casting seems to be underway.

With the Jurassic Park sequel greenlit, and casting looking to crop up, it’s only natural for fans to ask if favorite Laura Dern will return. Dernn’s last Jurassic Park film was in 2001. However, this is the first time that Dern has been busier than ever during a production. She currently stars in her own television show Enlightened and has another film in pre-production.

Don’t put the kibosh on Laura Dern just yet. When the actress was asked about her appearance in the Jurassic Park film she had this to say:

I know a little and it’s been ever-changing. It’s been evolving for many years as Steven has been considering it so that’s all I can say right now. Oh, I don’t know. We’ll see what they do. Right now we’re just focused on our party of this summer.”

Her little party she’s referring to is the upcoming Jurassic Park in 3D which is coming out April 5.

As for Jurassic Park 4 Steven Spielberg is still attached to produce, with Frank Marshall, Rick Jaffa, and Amanda Silver having written the screenplay for the film.

Would you like to see Laura Dern reprise her role as Dr. Ellie Sattler? Do you think Jurassic Park 3D will be worth your buck? Sound off here.

Being a big original fan from 1993' i dont see much of a difference, we all saw the sequels and she appeared in jurassic park 3 already, she was a important charactor but i wouldnt understand her paper in this new film..we saw in the 3rd, she was married and had a kid and sadly to everyones disapointment she didnt marry alan grant..which made me mad…i dont know what this sequel is going to be about, but if steven isn,t writing it and without john williams music and stan winstons amazing talent RIP sorry this movie is going to be an other embarrassment to the jurassic park classic…the original will always be the best, no other sequel will make it bigger!..

the sequels were terrible. no more sequels please! a remake would be cool though. they could make it more in line with the original novel. that I would pay to see. but they would have to ditch speilbutt, and that will never happen :-/

I don't think they need to have any of the original characters in there, that is usually just a gimmick. They could do a reboot of the franchise, make it a little grittier, may the story epic, like LOTR. Maybe dinos made it to the mainland!

I think they should reboot SKYLINE. Re-boot it back to when it was just a script…and burn it. Bahahahahahaha

Id love for Sam Neill to reprise his role as Alan Grant. Make up for the horrible job Joe Johnston did on that movie. Laura Dern really wouldn't make much sense at this point.
