Virginia Men Guilty Of Illegal Contributions To Hillary Clinton

Two Virginia men pled guilty of attempting to illegally contribute funds to former First Lady and New York Senator Hillary Clinton, The Associated Press reported on Tuesday, February 26.

William P. Danielczyk admitted to making illegal campaign contributions in the names of others to Clinton’s 2006 Senate and 2008 presidential campaigns.

Through his company Galen Capital Group, Danielczyk and Eugene Biagi funneled nearly $200,000 as a reimbursement to employees, who donated to Clinton.

Danielczyk could serve up to five years in prison, while Biagi will not go to jail per terms of the plea, which was submitted Tuesday at a federal court in Alexandria, Virginia.

The Washington Post noted that no allegations had been made to indicate Clinton acted improperly.

Hillary Clinton recently stepped down from her Secretary of State role in the Obama administration and has faced a tough 2013, answering for her department’s missteps in the Benghazi attacks that killed four Americans and continuing recovery from a blood clot discovered in her brain.

Do you think Clinton was aware of the illegal campaign contributions, and, if so, would it affect recent polling that revealed her to be a more popular figure than President Barack Obama?
