Britney Spears Hair Goes From Blonde To Brunette In Oscar Debut

Britney Spears’ hair is often a perfect platinum blonde — when she hasn’t just sheared it in a strangely compulsive fit of pique — but the Hit Me Baby One More Time songstress showed off a new color at this weekend’s Hollywood festivities.

While Britney Spears’ hair wasn’t the biggest news out of the Oscars, it did garner some second-wave celeb buzz as the singer showed off the understated new ‘do at one of the major Tinseltown after parties.

Sunday night, Britney Spears’ hair made its first appearance at Elton John’s post-Academy Awards bash, and the Huffington Post explained that the star’s look made a good impression, reporting:

“The 31-year-old singer’s signature platinum locks have been dyed a soft, chocolate brown, which is a shade closer to her natural color … Spears also dared to bare plenty of cleavage in a sparkling black Michael Cinco Couture dress with cap sleeves and a sheer back, according to Just Jared.”

MTV also covered Britney Spears’ hair, quipping that while she isn’t even technically a part of the Hollywood movie machine, she slightly upstaged some of her fellows in the grown-up new look:

“Britney, her Deep-V cleavage (she totally got the Taylor Swift-Selena Gomez ‘Deep-V’ memo), and her brand-new brunette locks were snapped upon entering the 21st Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party last night … It’s like, the gal wasn’t nominated for an Oscar, yet you and I both know she got as much attention as Oscar winners Daniel Day-Lewis and Anne Hathaway combined.”

Britney Spears’ hair is also not the only new thing going on for the X Factor judge — the singer also reportedly took up with a new man following her split from fiance Jason Trawick last year.
