Derek Fisher Signs Deal With OKC Thunder

Derek Fisher has reached a deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Fisher, who played 20 regular season games with the Thunder last year, joined the Dallas Mavericks earlier this season.

Fisher played nine games in Dallas before he was sidelined with a knee injury. Fisher asked to be released from the team but now that his knee has healed, Fisher is ready to get back to the NBA.

Sam Presti, the Executive Vice President and General Manager of the OKC Thunder said:

“We are excited to welcome Derek back to the Thunder organization. He contributed to our team in various ways last season, and we are looking forward to him joining us again.”

Fisher brings some valuable championship experience to the young OKC team. The former Laker has won five NBA championships and has appeared in 229 playoff games during his career. During his 20 playoff games with the Thunder, Fisher averaged 6.3 points, 1.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 22.3 minutes per game.
