Jennifer Lawrence ‘Flips The Bird’ Backstage At The Oscars, As You Do

Jennifer Lawrence was on form last night at the Oscars. Hot on the heels of her Best Actress win for Silver Linings Playbook, the popular winner was seen flipping the bird backstage in the press room.

No doubt the 22-year-old made the gesture out of high spirits — perhaps even literally — as Lawrence freely told reporters present that she was “drunk” adding “I’m sorry, I did a shot before I came out.”

Few would begrudge anyone girding their loins on what the biggest night of the awards season.

Held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, the 85th Academy Awards attracted an audience of millions around the world, not to mention Hollywood’s great and good.

It’s not known who Lawrence was directing her finger at. In one of the pictures The Hunger Games star is seen posing with French actor and star of The Artist Jean Dujardin, and it may have been that the lighthearted moment was meant for a photographer, Digital Spy mused.

Lawrence’s backstage shenanigans weren’t her only off-the-cuff incident at the event.

The actress fell up the steps on her way to the stage to collect her statue.

But, unlike her SAG awards appearance, her blush Dior Haute Couture gown didn’t reveal any skin.

“You guys are just standing up because you feel bad that I fell, and it’s really embarrassing,” Lawrence remarked to the stunned audience.

Backstage the actress poked fun at her “trip” telling reporters backstage that she “absolutely” fell on purpose.

According to MTV , Lawrence quipped: “What do you mean, ‘What happened?’ Look at my dress! I tried to walk up stairs in this dress, that’s what happened! I think I just stepped on the fabric, and they wax the stairs.”

Asked what she was thinking as she fell, the Winter’s Bone star just laughed and said: “A bad word that I can’t say… that starts with ‘F’.”

The Louisana native beat Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty), Naomi Watts (The impossible), Emmanuelle Riva (Amour), and nine-year-old Quvenzhane (Beasts of the Southern Wild) to claim the Best Actress prize.
