Prince Set To Perform On ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon’

Prince is reportedly scheduled to perform on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon this week.

The reclusive musician is currently slated to perform at least two songs during his appearance on the late night chat show. According to Dr.Funkenberry, Friday’s episode will mark the first time Prince has performed on Jimmy Fallon’s program.

The website explains that both Fallon and Questlove are huge fans of Prince.

For those who are still staring at their screens in disbelief, the “Purple Rain” singer’s appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon has been also confirmed by the folks at The Associated Press.

However, it’s not entirely clear if Prince will be performing new material or simply doing a number of hits from his back catalog.

Although he has been out of the public eye for a while, Prince is starting to put together a series of high-profile appearances and performances.

In addition to releasing the new track “Screwdriver” with his all-girl band, the 54-year-old musician also handed out the trophy for Record of the Year at the 2013 Grammy Awards.

The Inquisitr previously reported that Prince has been selected to headline the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. However, those who are planning to show up to see the man perform should probably bring quite a bit of money. Tickets to the festival will easily set you back between $190 and $429.

Prince has also recently performed a handful of surprise shows in Minneapolis.

A teaser video for the new track “Screwdriver” has been embedded below. If you like what you hear from the preview, you can swing by Prince’s website to get the whole song.

Fans of Prince should definitely consider tuning into Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Friday, March 1. Since he doesn’t make too many television appearances these days, there’s no telling when the opportunity may come around again.
