The Billboard Music Awards 2019: Everything You Need To Know

The 2019 Billboard Music Awards will air Wednesday, May 1, on NBC and it promises to be an evening filled with unforgettable musical performances, fun mash-ups, and exciting debut songs from some of the biggest artists in the industry. Billboard reported that the event, which will be hosted by Kelly Clarkson, will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, where many of the most popular artists in the music genre will take home the night’s biggest awards.

Taylor Swift and Panic! at the Disco’s Brendon Urie will open the show with the worldwide debut of their collaboration, “ME!”

This jam-packed show will also include performances by BTS, Halsey, Ciara, Lauren Daigle, Dan + Shay with Tori Kelly, Halsey, The Jonas Brothers, Khalid, Madonna and Maluma, Panic! at the Disco, Paula Abdul, and Icon Award recipient Mariah Carey.

Also appearing in a taped segment will be Ariana Grande, who will perform her hit song “7 Rings.” Grande is nominated for nine awards at this year’s ceremony. Some of these include Top Artist, Billboard Chart Achievement, and Top Female Artist.

E! Entertainment Television reported they will host a Live! from the Red Carpet segment prior to the airing of the awards show. Their show kicks off at 6 p.m., with Jason Kennedy and iHeartMedia’s Tanya Rad. For the first time during the red carpet, the show is featuring what they call a “host-less star stop,” where celebrities can answer pre-recorded questions from fans via a TV monitor.
