Superman And Batman Join Forces In New DC Series

Superman and Batman are getting ready to fight crime together.

DC Comics has announced that the two characters will join forces for a new series. Dubbed Batman/Superman, the story will focus on how the two icons first met.

According to The Associated Press, the new series featuring Superman and Batman will be written by longtime Marvel writer Greg Pak and illustrated by Jae Lee. Pak explained that DC was giving the duo plenty of room to do some “important storytelling.”

Pak said that he intends to explore how the characters would react to one another during their first encounter. He told USA Today that there’s an “element of danger” to the upcoming series that he thinks people will enjoy.

He said:

“What would your reaction be if you saw a guy running around in a bat costume in the dead of night attacking people for the first time? And what would your reaction be if you met an alien who could crush steel in his bare hands for the first time. These guys are going to have very different immediate impressions of each other than we’re used to seeing with these characters.”

As for working with artist Jae Lee on Batman/Superman, Pak said it was a “no brainer.”

The writer added:

“That makes total sense. [But] he’s doing some cool new stuff and when you put these two characters together, they’ve got different palettes and environments.”

Pak explained to Geak Speak that a lot of the things readers learn about Superman and Batman during the new series will have an impact on storylines in DC’s New 52 universe. He went on to describe the books as “big and crazy and tons of fun.”

Yea I don't get it, the only thing we've never had is a live action Batman/Superman film. comics going back to the 70's and animated films have shown their first meeting over and over.

This is not new. Unless it is to the writers. Been there done that. Come up with a live action movie! That I would go see.

Dumbest argument ever. Superman would crush Batman's face and throw him into space. Good luck with that.

Batman and Superman fought already in Batman: Hush, put the Man of Steel in place lol. But I love them both. Come on DC.

Superman always look so badass and rugged in the comics, but when it comes to the movies they make him look so smooth and soft, like he is performing for the ballet, Why is that? I hate that!

WHAT's THE BIG DEAL! Superman and Batman have teamed up together for YEARS! This is not NEWS its OLD. Why the big hype over something that has been written and published for years? Must be a slow day at the office.

My thoughts exactly !! They're hyping it like it's the 1st time and has never been done. Hell, their last book went what, 3 years…
