First and current UFC women’s bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey is one of the biggest stars in MMA right now, so naturally, offers are pouring in. But will she pick up the phone when Playboy calls?
Unfortunately, for those who wanted more of a peek at Rousey’s goodies, you won’t be getting it in Hugh Hefner’s gentleman’s magazine. Rousey is on record saying that she has no interest in stripping down to pose for Playboy, reports Yard Barker.
The 26-year-old already shed her skivvies for last year’s ESPN Magazine “Body Issue,” but that’s as far as she’s willing to go. On Tuesday’s episode of HBO’s Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel, Rousey said that not even a boat load of cash would make her change her mind about not posing in Playboy.
“No one should be able to see my cash and prizes for $5, okay? I don’t care how much money they gave me,” she joked.
She also said ESPN‘s “Body Issue” is different from Playboy, even though the athletes are pictured nude.
“I felt like it was a good way to promote myself and women’s MMA. It wasn’t like it was Playboy,” she reasoned, adding, “If you want exposure, you have to expose yourself, to some extent.”
She also denied her label as a sex symbol.
“I don’t really see myself as a sex symbol because ever since people have started calling me a sex symbol, I haven’t had a lot of sex in my life,” Rousey revealed. “Like, it’s just, it’s not really working out great for me.” Wait, what?
Several months ago, Rousey did say that she tries to have as much sex as she can before a fight, according to The Huffington Post. So hopefully she finds someone special before her upcoming Feb. 23 fight against Liz Carmouche in the main event of UFC 157.
Do you think Ronda Rousey should pose for Playboy?
