Pre-Med Student Fed His Baby Bleach To Treat Congestion [Video]

A 20-year-old pre-med student says that he fed his baby bleach to treat her congestion. Carron Washington’s Two-month-old daughter is currently being treated for ingesting the dangerous chemical.

Washington, a student at the College of Central Florida, spoke at a press conference on Monday, discussing the incident. According to Washington, he mixed bleach with his daughter Caelynn’s formula according to advice from “a friend.” Washington reportedly fed the bleach to his baby to treat symptoms of chronic congestion.

As reported by WESH.com, Caelynn’s mother, Therese Roberts, was alarmed when the baby would not stop crying and spit up a “clear liquid that smelled like bleach.” She immediately called for help and Caelynn was transported to a local hospital.

Hospital employees contacted authorities and Washington was taken into custody. He reportedly denied adding bleach to the baby’s bottle, but eventually confessed. In the press conference, Washington expresses his regret:

“This would probably be the dumbest decision I ever made in my life, and I regret it 110 percent. I was like the most worried ever. I mean, I have seen family members killed and friends get killed, but I was never as much scared as seeing my daughter and how she was.”

As reported by gainesville.com Caelynn is currently in stable condition. Her mother Therese requested and has been granted temporary custody. She and Washington reportedly live in the same apartment complex, in separate units.

Washington is currently incarcerated in the Marion County Jail. He has been charged with “domestic aggravated child abuse” for feeding his baby bleach. He is currently being held on $25,000 bond.
