‘Toy Story 4’ Not Happening, Despite Rumors

Sorry, Toy Story fans, but rumors that Toy Story 4 will be hitting theaters in 2015 seem to be false.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, confirmation for the fourth film in the franchise appeared to come in the form of a tweet by Jorge Luis Balaguera, the entertainment coordinator for RCN Radio, one of the main radio networks in Colombia. Balaguera wrote, “In 2015, Pixar will release Toy Story 4, the voices of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cusack confirmed for the main characters.”

The news seemed to be corroborated by Colombian news site Terra, which claimed that Disney announced it would be releasing the sequel to Toy Story 3 in two years.

However, according to BuzzFeed, the rumors about Toy Story 4 are completely untrue. A representative for Disney told the website that “nothing official” has been announced for Toy Story 4. The company is also investigating where in South America the rumor originated. Pixar does, however, have a very full plate that includes Monsters University(June 21, 2013), The Good Dinosaur (May 30, 2014), and another untitled film that will be released in June 2015.

Similarly, HitFix‘s Drew McWeeny put the kibosh on the Toy Story 4 rumors, using the same logic that Pixar has its hands full with films that are actually confirmed. McWeeny also said, even if the rumors were true, Disney and Pixar would not have made the announcement through a radio personality’s Twitter account.

Are you disappointed that the Toy Story 4 rumors appear to be false?
