The World’s Most Expensive Starbucks Coffee: The Quadriginoctuple Frap [Video]

If you think $7 is too much to pony up for a good cup of Starbucks joe, at least your tastes aren’t so refined (read: stubborn) that you end up shelling out $50 after all the bells and whistles are added to your morning coffee.

Beau Chevassus strolled into a Seattle-area Starbucks to pick up a “Quadriginoctuple Frap” which is somehow even more frightening than it sounds.

The 52-ounce “Quadriginoctuple Frap” has 48 shots of espresso (which, according to MSN, is 3,500 mg of caffeine) and almost every single modification available at Starbucks, including matcha powder and macchiato drizzle. Oh, and a helping of whipped cream on top because why not?

All in all the “Quadriginoctuple Frap” cost Chevassus $47.30.

Chevassus isn’t the first coffee lover to try for the world’s most expensive cup. Eater reports that last year, a man went to Starbucks to order a ridiculous drink hat ended up costing $23.60 with 16 shots of espresso and other add-ons. Chevassus shatters that record with his “Quadriginoctuple Frap” with double the price and (seemingly) almost three times the coffee.

Luckily for the baristas at the Washington-area Starbucks, Chevassus was kind enough to bring them doughnuts for bearing with him.

Oh, and Chevassus filmed the whole thing for posterity. On YouTube, it’s going viral with over 60,000 views already.

Check it out below, and let us know what you think. One, would you ever pay $50 for a cup of coffee? And two, would you dare try the “Quadriginoctuple Frap?” Sound off!
