Darrelle Revis Interview: Star Talks About Trade Rumors

If Percy Harvin is the most frustrated player in the NFL right now, Darrelle Revis has to be a close second. The New York Jets star cornerback, shocked by recent trade rumors, initially aired his frustration via Twitter. Now he has opening up about the rumors in a tell-all interview with NFL Network’s Andrea Kramer.

Darrelle Revis’ candid interview with Andrea Kramer will air Monday night at 7 pm ET on NFL Network.

Previewing the interview, NFL Network has revealed a little of what Darrelle Revis told Kramer:

“I know it’s a business — just call me; don’t have it lingering out there. I need answers and I’m not getting any. Just the fact that that was put out there instead of contacting your best player on the team. If that’s how you want to do business, then that’s fine.”

Darrelle Revis’ frustrations are understandable. He is a franchise player by any NFL team’s standards. Quarterback is a more glamorous position though, and the Jets can’t afford to keep Revis after shelling out a huge contract extension to Mark Sanchez before last season.

With how last season turned out, the Jets may be regretting that decision. It has placed the team in a major salary cap bind, and trading Darrelle Revis, along with his current contract, would help ease New York’s financial woes.

Darrelle Revis has talked to new Jets general manager John Idzik to clear up the situation. It is unclear however if Revis is satisfied with the answers he got.

Are you surprised that Darrelle Revis is frustrated? Is a nationally televised, tell-all interview the best course of action for Revis to take?
