Celtics Trade Rumors Involve Kevin Garnett To Clippers

Boston Celtics trade rumors have been heating up, just as they have for several other NBA teams as the trading deadline nears. Already, the rumor claiming that Dwight Howard was headed to New England in exchange for Rajon Rondo has been shot down by the Los Angeles Lakers.

It appears with Rondo saying put, the Celtics have restarted trade talks involving Kevin Garnett. Earlier this month, the Celtics apparently saw talks between themselves and the Nuggets fall apart but Garnett is still on the trading block.

Celtics trade rumors now seem to say that Garnett could be headed to the Los Angeles Clippers. MassLive.com is reporting that the Clippers and Celtics have been discussing a trade for a while now.

The principals in that potential deal would likely be Garnett, who would head to L.A. in return for Eric Bledsoe and DeAndre Jordan. Previously the Celtics had been reticent to trade Bledsoe unless Chris Paul was willing to sign a new deal.

The biggest roadblock to any trade involving Garnett, is the man himself. The veteran power forward has a no-trade clause that he must waive in order to be moved.

It is this no-trade clause that many feel was the ultimate obstacle in Garnett not going to Denver.Yahoo Sports is reporting that the Celtics hope this time Garnett will indeed agree to this trade.

Garnett has a house in Malibu, California and has a close personal friendship with Clippers guard Chauncey Billups. The Celtics are hoping that these two factors will help Garnett agree to this particular trade.

While the Celtics are struggling to stay in the playoff race, the Clippers are looking for pieces that could put them over the top. There are people in the league who believe that Garnett could be the final piece that makes the Clippers a title contender.

Will these Celtics trade rumors prove to be more reliable than ones that flew around earlier?
