Update: Chris Henry dies following domestic dispute injuries

Sadly, Bengals receiver Chris Henry has died of injuries sustained yesterday during an alleged domestic dispute with fiancee Loleini Tonga.
Duncan posted yesterday about an open homicide investigation into the incident in which Henry fell from the back of a moving vehicle:
The police said that the dispute began at a house, which The A.P. reported was owned by the Tonga family, about a half-mile from the accident scene and that Henry jumped into the bed of the pickup truck as his fiancée was driving away. At some point, Henry “came out of the back of the vehicle,” the police said, although it was not clear how. The police did not say if Tonga was at the scene; 911 tapes were expected to be released later Thursday.
Henry’s career was marked by multiple arrests and suspensions, for charges including driving under the influence, marijuana possession, assault, and criminal damaging. However, it appeared Henry was in the process of trying to straighten his life out at the time of the fatal accident, and Bengals owner Mike Brown re-signed the troubled player after a four game suspension.
Henry was 26.

Indeed, his multiple arrests during a five-year NFL career were among the factors prompting the league to toughen its personal conduct policy. But to hear his teammates tell it — even the team’s owner — the Bengals receiver was determined to leave behind his troubled past and move ahead toward a bright future.
