Matthew McConaughey Launching A Clothing Line – JKL Sportswear


Matthew McConaughey is launching a the JKL clothing line. The letters are an abbreviation for the star’s charity – Just Keep Livin’. Although female fans likely enjoy seeing the handsome man with a southern drawl shirtless is a multitude of movie scenes, McConaughey does know how to wear clothes.

The 43-year-old star is designing a line of sportswear for men. The Matthew McConaughey clothing line is being produced by Grand National Apparel, according to the Daily Mail. The company is a Toronto-based private label manufacturer. Grand National Apparel also works with Savane and Perry Ellis.

McConaughey’s idea for the sportswear line came after demand for his charity branded products soared. The Magic Mike star expanded his charity branded items to include hoodies, flip-flops, hats, and t-shirts.

During an interview with WWD, Matthew McConaughey had this to say about his JKL clothing line:

“I like to be able to wear something that is appropriate for wherever the day takes me; to work, on a hike and then out to dinner. I like to take the formality out of the day’s schedule and be ready for any off-road detour.”

The movie star also noted during the interview that the JKL sportswear for men line is his first step into the fashion realm. McConaughey feels that the JKL philosophy makes his clothing line unique. Matthew and his wife Camila, started the JKL Foundation to empower teenagers to make healthy choices and lead healthy lives. The inspiration for the found began when McConaughey was filming Dazed and Confused an struggling with his father’s death.

The Matthew McConaughey JKL clothing line goes on sale at Dillard’s in March. Prices will reportedly be about $30 for t-shirts and $90 for jeans.
