Watch Dogs has already been announced for the PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3. However, leaked promotional material suggests the game will be available for “all home consoles.”
Although nothing has been officially announced by Sony or Microsoft, it’s currently believed both companies will drop new systems before the end of the year. The Watch Dogs promos received by Kotaku suggests the consoles should arrive in time for the holidays.
The “all home consoles” line also means the title could arrive for the Wii U and Ouya as well. However, nothing has been confirmed or denied by the folks at Ubisoft as of this writing.
It’s no secret that Ubisoft has been working on versions of Watch Dogs for both current and next generation consoles. However, the leaked promotional material suggests that the new systems will be on retail shelves by the time the game is made available to the masses.
Video Gamer reports that the company has yet to comment on the recently leaked promotional material. However, some of these console release date rumors might be cleared up when Sony unveils the Playstation 4 at an upcoming press evening in New York City on February 20.
Watch Dogs is an open world cyberpunk adventure set in a futuristic Chicago where computers control everything. When Ubisoft debuted footage of the game at last year’s E3, the company said the title would “revolutionize the way players interact with each other.”
The gameplay footage embedded below is thought to be from the next gen version of Watch Dogs. While the game will be available for current generation systems, the superior experience will likely be found on Xbox 720 and Playstation 4.
Nearly 10 minutes worth of gameplay footage has been embedded below. The video does contain some language, so be careful who’s standing within earshot when you’re checking it out.
