Megyn Kelly Pregnant: Will Fox News Blonde Take Up For Socialism Again?

Megyn Kelly is pregnant, and, the last time Fox News’ lead blonde was in a family way, the anchor went off message bigtime — espousing benefits deemed “socialist” in an on-air bit where she waxed effusively about her cherished paid time off.

Megyn Kelly is pregnant for the third time, and the talking head disclosed her delicate condition on air yesterday on Valentine’s Day. Normally, Kelly is an old hand at reciting Fox talking points, but, last time after she came back, Megyn perhaps unwittingly ditched the script and argued for allowing women some sort of workplace parity by mandating paid maternity leave.

What pregnant Megyn Kelly learned and many conservatives fail to admit is that in first world countries, America stands alone in forcing her women to bear the entire fiscal cost of childbirth and family growth. The statistics are legion and stark — women earn less, move up more slowly, and generally work within a system that allows for an employer to fire you at will if you become pregnant.

The situation Megyn Kelly saw when pregnant is one most moms know well, and it unintuitively places all mothers on a slippery slope to poverty, given the preponderance of divorce and the attitudes in general we still embrace about responsibility for the care of children. Arguing with a guest, Kelly responded quite socialistically:

“Just in case you didn’t know, Mike, I want you to know that the United States is the only country in the advanced world that doesn’t require paid maternity leave. Now I happen to work for a nice employer that gave me paid leave. But the United States is the only advanced country that doesn’t require paid leave.”

The commenter hemmed and hawed about how men don’t get the advantage, and Kelly continued:

“If anything, the United States is in the dark ages when it comes to maternity leave. And what is it about carrying a baby for nine months, that you don’t think deserves a few months off so bonding and recovery can take place, hmm? … You can’t answer the question because there is no answer, my friend.”

Megyn Kelly’s pregnant righteousness went mildly viral — and now that the Fox blonde is knocked up again, maybe it’s time for her to take up for her sisters in arms again, those who perhaps have no paid maternity leave at all. Do you agree with Kelly in the snippets below?
