Kanye And Kim Get TSA Special Treatment At JFK, Officials Under Investigation
Kanye and Kim skipped TSA on a recent trip through John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, and now officials are under investigation for giving the celebrities special treatment.
Someone at JFK apparently let Kanye West and Kim Kardashian bypass TSA, which the Transportation Security Administration considers a serious breach of protocol, CBS New York reported. The couple was on their way back from a visit to Rio on Tuesday when an American Airlines employee reportedly took them through a “back way” that brought them past security in order to make a connecting flight.
Kanye and Kim aren’t accused of wrongdoing, but the American Airlines employee who gave them the TSA VIP treatment is in hot water.
American Airlines said in a statement:
“This was a lapse in judgment by one of our employees. We’re working closely with the TSA and speaking to the individuals involved to better understand what happened. The flight in question departed JFK an hour late. It was delayed in part because of this issue and in part because a number of connecting bags were late arriving to the aircraft.”
The couple was returning from a whirlwind trip to Brazil for their “babymoon.” There they took in the sights, partied a bit, and even met up with actor Will Smith, E! News. Kanye and the Fresh Prince event hit up a local recording studio together.
Kanye and Kim met TSA agents who found out about their gate crashing and screened them for contraband. The “shortcut” ended up delaying their flight by an hour as agents searched them in the jetway.
