Peter Sarsgaard Joins AMC’s ‘The Killing’

Guess who’s coming to AMC’sThe Killing? It’s none other than indie guy Peter Sarsgaard. The character actor has just joined the series in its third season, and will play the role of Tom Seward.

The role has been described as: “a death row inmate for whom the clock is ticking down. A lifelong convict born into poverty and crime, Seward’s been in and out of the system for violent crimes since he was 10. Not ever wanting to appear weak, every interaction is a challenge, and one he must dominate.”

This isn’t a huge stretch for Peter Sarsgaard. In the past Peter has played a bevy of bad boy roles including the villain in Green Lantern, a menacing molester in Boys Don’t Cry, and coming up he plays the troubled husband of Linda Lovelace in the film Lovelace, opposite Amanda Seyfried. However, this should be something that’s very engaging for fans of The Killing seeing as this is what Sarsgaard does best with.

Peter Sarsgaard is the last of the new cast members joining the AMC show in its third season. He joins Max Fowler and Elias Koteas, along with regulars Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman. Even though AMC has cast a group of new people, it’s not known of the start date.

For those not familiar with The Killing, the series official description is as follows:

“A year after closing the Rosie Larsen case, Sarah Linden is no longer a detective. But when her ex-partner Stephen Holder’s search for a runaway girl leads him to discover a gruesome string of murders that connects to a previous murder investigation by Linden, she is drawn back into the life she thought she’d left behind.”
