‘Monsters University’ Clip Debuts On ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon’ [Video]

Late Night With Jimmy Fallon

Viewers who tuned in to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Monday were treated to an exclusive clip from Disney-Pixar’s Monsters University.

John Goodman made an appearance on the late night chat show to promote Argo, Inside Llewyn Davis, and the upcoming animated comedy Monsters University. After discussing the handful of projects he has slated for 2013, Fallon unveiled an exclusive clip from the Disney flick. You can find the new footage embedded below.

Here’s what the sequel is all about:

“Ever since college-bound Mike Wazowski was a little monster, he has dreamed of becoming a Scarer—and he knows better than anyone that the best scarers come from Monsters University. But during his first semester at MU, Mike’s plans are derailed when he crosses paths with hotshot James P. Sullivan, “Sulley,” a natural-born Scarer. The pair’s out-of-control competitive spirit gets them both kicked out of the University’s elite Scare Program. To make matters worse, they realize they will have to work together, along with an odd bunch of misfit monsters, if they ever hope to make things right.”

After jokingly comparing fraternities to monsters, John Goodman discussed his role in director Todd Phillips’ forthcoming sequel The Hangover Part III. According to Goodman, he plays a “killer dressed in track clothes.”

He said of his experience on the comedy:

“They are the nicest guys to work with and they are all insanely funny. Especially Zack. He’s a genius but he’s the sweetest genius you’ll ever see in your life. Just a nice guy.”

A clip of John Goodman’s appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon has been embedded below. The Monsters University footage starts at around the two minute mark.

The previously-released UK trailer has been included as well.

Monsters University stars John Goodman, Billy Crystal, Julia Sweeney, Steve Buscemi, David Spade, Joel Murray, Dave Foley, and Michael McKean. The film opens in theaters on June 21.
