Caffrey, the two-legged cat, has been through a lot in his 8 lives.
Ten years ago the 13-year-old Persian lost his left hind leg when he was ran over by a car.
According to Gawker, Caffrey’s front right paw was also damaged in the accident. Thankfully, owner Sue Greaves opened up her wallet (for more than $5000) and was able to save the cat’s right leg with a series of operations.
The three-legged cat went close to a decade without another severe injury but a few months ago the vet found a malignant tumor on his front leg. Doctors urged Greaves to have the cat put down but the woman just couldn’t do it.
Instead, Greaves had the vet remove Caffrey’s leg in order to get rid of the malignant tumor.
It took a little while for the Persian to adjust but now he’s up and running, literally, once again.
“Everyone who sees him is astonished at what he can do … He doesn’t seem bothered at all by having only two legs.”
