The first-person horror PC game Slender: The Arrival is currently slated for release this March. However, those who pre-order the title can try out the beta right now.
The Arrival is the sequel to Slender: The Eight Pages, a survival horror title that charges players with finding several pages scattered throughout a dark and foreboding forest. Although the quest sounds easy enough, adventurers are soon being stalked by an entity known only as Slender Man.
The original game was created by developer Mark Hadley. However, Slender: The Arrival is being co-created by Blue Isle Studios and the writers behind the Marble Hornets series.
According to the official FAQ, the developers addressed worries about the improved graphics ruining the original game’s unique atmosphere.
The website explained:
“We agree that the original Slender was truly spectacular in its simplicity. We are aware of this and are being very careful as we develop the new game. The story and improved visuals we are adding serves to improve on the experience, not take away from it.”
Those interested in picking up the first-person horror game can expect to pay around $10 for the experience. If you pre-order The Arrival, then you’ll get early access to the beta. This will give players an opportunity to see what sort of terror is hanging out in the full game.
However, there are other options available to those who enjoy supporting indie games. Prospective players can get the game, beta, and soundtrack for only $15, while $25 will give you everything and downloadable paintings. If you’re really feeling generous, you can drop $60 to get all of the goodies plus your name in the credits.
The trailer for the game has been included below.
