‘Jack the Giant Slayer’ Trailer Definitely Doesn’t Skimp On The Giants [Video]

The second official trailer for Bryan Singer’s Jack the Giant Slayer gives moviegoers a good look at what our hero is up against.

The X-Men director’s upcoming fantasy finds Warm Bodies star Nicolas Hoult tackling the role of Jack, a man charged with stopping a percussion of giants from destroying mankind. Along the way, he’ll also have to rescue a beautiful princess from certain doom.

The film has been officially described as follows:

” ‘Jack the Giant Slayer’ tells the story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack, into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend — and gets the chance to become a legend himself.”

Co-star Ewan McGregor recently had a chat with the folks at HitFix. During the conversation, the actor explained why he decided to sign on for Singer’s fantasy:

“I liked the script. I was sent the script and I was probably a little dubious about it, to be honest. I didn’t know quite what I thought about trying to retell a classic fairytale. I kind of approached the script feeling a bit like, “Well, I’m not going to like this.” But I did! I really liked the script. I liked the humor in the script. The characters in it were strong. In a film that’s this technologically based, I think that’s really important that you have clear and well-identifiable characters. I felt that that was the case.”

The latest trailer for the movie can be found below.

Jack the Giant Slayer stars Nicholas Hoult, Eleanor Tomlinson, Stanley Tucci, Ian McShane, Bill Nighy, and Ewan McGregor. Warner Bros. will drop the flick into theaters on March 1.
