‘Bayonetta 2,’ ‘Wonderful 101’ Will Remain Wii U Exclusives

Those hoping that Bayonetta 2 and The Wonderful 101 will make the jump to other consoles are in for some serious disappointment.

Bayonetta director Hideki Kamiya recently made some comments that will surely cause frustration for those hoping the games would arrive for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 at some point down the road. According to IGN, the titles will likely remain Wii U exclusives.

It would appear that quite a few people have been asking Kamiya about the possibility of Bayonetta 2 and The Wonderful 101’s arrival on other consoles. In an effort to squash rumors once and for all, Kamiya issued the following Japanese-language tweet:

“We are a developer. Nintendo are the ones kind enough to fund and publish our ‘The Wonderful 101’ and ‘Bayonetta 2’ projects. So if Nintendo says ‘We are publishing Bayo 2 on PS3/360.’ Then it will happen. So please go ask them, not us.”

Siliconera reports that some people misunderstood the point Kamiya was trying to make. When one Twitter user wondered if the director’s tweet was some kind of teaser, Platinum Games’ J.P. Kellams decided to clear things up:

“It’s supposed to mean what it says. If you want a PS3 version ask Nintendo. You might also want to ask for PS3 ‘Zelda.’ “

Nintendo has lined up several exclusive titles in an effort to get people interested in the Wii U. Although The Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2 will only be available for the console, the company recently lost exclusivity to one of its most highly-anticipated titles.

The Inquisitr previously reported that Rayman Legends originally started out as a Wii U exclusive. However, Ubisoft has decided to bring the game to Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 in order to “broaden” the franchise’s appeal. Folks who bought a Wii U for the Rayman sequel were understandably irritated by the decision.
