Paparazzi say they aren't to blame for Chris Brown crash

Chris Brown’s Porsche Wrecked In Collision, Star Blames Paparazzi

Chris Brown‘s car has reportedly been written off in a solo collision, with the rapper driving his Porsche into a wall near the 600 block of Bedford Drive in Beverly Hills.

Furthermore, it seems the singer-rapper has a good idea of where the blame lies: it’s those pesky paparazzi.

TMZ reports how Brown told cops he crashed because he was being pursued by photographers. A statement released just hours later from a Brown representative seemed to confirm the star was blaming the incident on the paps. Referring to how the singer was allegedly chased by two cars, the rep said:

“The occupants [of the chasing cars] jumped out, with cameras, and aggressively approached [Chris’s] vehicle. In an effort to remove himself from the situation, he began to back down an alley at which point he was cut off by two additional vehicles.

“Chris’ vehicle was totaled due to this aggressive pursuit by the paparazzi. He is okay.”

Police later revealed that nobody had been hurt in the collision, but Brown’s damaged Porsche had to be towed from the scene. At least he can borrow Rihanna’s, eh?

A spokesman for the Beverly Hills Police department later released a statement regarding the incident:

“On February 9, 2013 at approximately 1203pm, entertainer Chris Brown was involved in a solo, non-injury traffic collision in the 600 Block Bedford Drive/Camden Drive alley. Mr. Brown was the driver of the vehicle and collided with a wall. Brown stated that he was being chased by paparazzi causing him to lose control of his vehicle. Brown’s Black Porsche was towed from the scene at his request.”
