Tina Brown: Obama Would Be Impeached By Now If He Was Bush [Video]

Tina Brown, editor of the liberal Newsweek/Daily Beast, has weighed in on the double standard prevailing about the Obama administration’s controversial drone policy.

For similar reasons, MSNBC host Joe Scarborough earlier this week called on the left to apologize to President George W. Bush for its selective outrage over his wartime policies

A document was recently leaked to NBC that indicated the Obama administration claimed it has the legal authority to use drones to kill American citizens anywhere in the world without the benefit of legal counsel or due process. This memo will apparently be turned over to Congress at some point.

Unlike their relative silence on the subject, it is very likely that the mainstream media and the Democrats would screaming bloody murder — so to speak — if this so-called “kill Americans” policy was taking place under the Bush administration or any GOP presidency for that matter.

Tina Brown addressed Obama and drones in an appearance with Bill Maher on HBO’s Real Time:

“I mean, he’d be impeached by now for drones if he was W. Bush. … I think that if this was a Republican president, the outcry about drones would be far greater.”

Bill Maher himself prefaced her remarks but noting that when it comes to cracking down on whistleblowers by the Obama White House,”the Democrats, their view on Obama seems to be ‘God, what he does would be awful if it was a Republican.’ ”

Do you agree with Tina Brown that the impeachment of Obama would have already happened if he was a Republican president?

Something has to be done with Obama soon or he will have too much of a hold on America.

Maybe I am confused but in times of war if an American traitor is conspiring with the enemy, do we hold off attacking them while we give the supposed American Citizen due process? If an "American" was working with the North Vietnamese during the Vietnam War, should we have not bombed the building they were in because a "Citizen" of this country was there? I use quotes around Citizen as every Citizen of this country has a sworn obligation to defend this country and uphold the Constitution. The law in question doesn't target Americans but rather Al-Qaeda leadership. It doesn't differentiate where that Al-Qaeda leader has an American Passport or not.

David…your incorrect " I use quotes around Citizen as every Citizen of this country has a sworn obligation to defend this country and uphold the Constitution" Citizens have no obligation nor and sworn policy to do anything of the sort; We do it because we feel strongly that it should be upheld; On the flip side to this POLITICIANS are SWORN to uphold the Constitution…funny..they seem less likely to do, even haven taken that oath.

Isn't this allegiance required of every Citizen born in the USA as well? :Naturalization Oath of Allegiance:
"I hereby declare, on oath, (that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen); that I will SUPPORT and DEFEND the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against ALL enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the armed forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God."
