Buffalo USB 3.0 ExpressCard Adapter Gets Revealed, Leaves Us With Questions

We were happy to discover today that the Buffalo USB 3.0 ExpressCard Adapter was spotted, but some questions still remaining, including whether the card is ExpressCard 1.0 or ExpressCard 2.0 compliant and exactly when it will actually get to customers doorsteps.

According to Akihabara News the adapter could theoretically handle 5Gbps, but only if the adapter supports 2.0 functionality, otherwise we’re looking at a still impressive 2.5Gbps.

The adapter also contains a pair of SuperSpeed USB ports which makes us really hope for 5Gbps theoretical (4.8Gbps) speeds.

UK customers can pre-order the card now for £35 ($57 USD), although no delivery date has been determined at this juncture.
