Tony Danza Divorce Finalized, Six Years After Actor Split From Wife

Tony Danza Divorce Finalized, Six Years After Actor Split From Wife 1

The Tony Danza divorce saga is finally over. The 62-year-old Taxi and Who’s the Boss? actor is officially single again, more than six years after his original split from second wife, Tracy Robinson.

Though Danza and Tracy (pictured together below in happier times) went their separate ways in 2006, Danza waited until 2011 before filing for divorce after 24 years of marriage. He said the break-up was due to “irreconcilable differences”.

TMZ reports that a judge signed off on the split on Wednesday after the case had languished in divorce court for close to two years.

Danza is father to two grown daughters with Tracy. He also has two other kids from his first marriage to Rhonda Yeoman, who he married in 1970, his first year of college.

Though best known for playing cabbie and part-time boxer Tony Banta in Taxi (1978 – 1983) and single father and housekeeper Tony Micelli in Who’s the Boss? (1984 – 1992), Danza has also dabbled in his own TV talk show, The Tony Danza Show, and starred on Broadway as Max Bialystock in The Producers from December 2006 to March 2007. He returned to the role at the Paris Las Vegas from August 2007 to February 2008.

Also, fun if pointless factoid I picked up while writing this article: Danza was at one point a professional boxer, and a pretty good one! He had a respectable 9-3 record, with all of his fights, wins, and losses ending with a knockout.

He is also not dead.

He should have been considered as the new TV show partner of Kelly Ripa…. he's had more life experiences than Strahan…. sings, dances, acts, jokes, was a teacher, boxer, etc….

One fact about his boxing career is wrong. He won all nine fights by K.O., lost two by K.O., but lost by a decision to Barry Hill. So not all of his fights were decided by K.O.

Why don't they just let mother nature take her course, I bet they would have been beautiful people. When they die, I wonder if God will recognize them?

Unfortunately, I do know who he is. I thought I had expunged the memory of seeing him act badly on even 'badder' television. Thank you sir. I am grateful that you brought this up…

I remember when he worked at a Gas station in Malverne when we were all growing up and all the girls would go there just to look at him. He was the best looking guy in town…He actually puts on a very entertaining one man show also…His last name was not Danza back in those days, he shortened it.

When Regis and Kathie Lee hosted the show, there was a certain element of "class". Both were educated and experienced and radiated charm. Then the show was turned over to the "ditzy" Kelly, who seems to lack basic social grace. I would compare her to a stripper is some bar, who is only there for the money.
