Kendall & Kylie Jenner: ‘We’re Not Kardashians’
Kendall and Kylie Jenner have no desire to be Kardashians.
As each of the Kardashian Klan gets older and settles in to their new respective families, the spotlight is slowly shifting to Kendall and Kylie Jenner, the up-and-coming heirs to Kardashian reality stardom. However, Kendall and Kylie insist that they are Jenners and are somewhat distancing themselves from the Kardashian name, reports MSN.
Though they themselves rose to a modest amount of fame alongside the Kardashian Klan on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kendall and Kylie seem to want whatever fame or recognition they’ll get on their own terms.
In a recent interview with Glamour magazine, 17-year-old Kendall says that, while she and her sister enjoy the fame they’ve gotten through modelling and the reality show, they strive o keep the namesake of their father, Olympic gold medalist Bruce Jenner.
“We’re full-throttle Jenners! We don’t have any desire to be Kardashians,” says Kendall.
“All that matters is that we’re a family,” said 15-year-old Kylie.
Kendall and Kyle are focused on their modeling careers and a new clothing line with PacSun.
“We appreciate everything that we have, but we don’t remember what it’s like to be normal kids who aren’t harassed by the paparazzi,” Kendall said. “I hate that. We’re underage girls. I don’t want to be followed by random men I don’t know. It can also be hard to deal with other kids who are jealous or mean. I can’t post a picture on Instagram without being criticized.”
“Our family is closer because of the show,” Kylie chimed in. “And when we are older, we’ll have the memories on tape. If some of those moments hadn’t been filmed, I wouldn’t remember them!”
Kendall and Kylie also talked a bit about the family dynamic and taking cues from their Kardashian half-siblings.
“If we’re fighting, we call Khloé. She’s our peacemaker. Kourtney keeps us down-to-earth,” Kendall said.
“Kim teaches us how to deal with the spotlight,” Kylie added.
