Beyonce’s First Interview After Halftime Show: Hugs Jay-Z, Praises Singers

Beyonce’s scorched earth halftime Super Bowl show is being talked up a storm by just about everyone. But there was only one man who scored the very first interview with the singer when she came off stage on Sunday.

Just moments after the “Single Ladies” singer stepped off the New Orleans’ superdome stage — leaving a seated audience of over 76, 000 and a virtual audience of over 100 million gasping for more — Yahoo OMG’s Insider co-anchor, Kevin Frazier, got a chance to talk to the Houston native.

In response to a question about how she felt the concert went, a smiling but weary looking Beyonce said,”It was beautiful. It was really beautiful.”

The 31-year-old was then asked if she thought her performance had set a “new standard.”

“It feels good to know that the hard work paid off,” she replied. “You know it’s a live television show, it’s the biggest show in America and there’s so many things that that can happen. But God was on my side.”

There was praise of a more intimate kind when the Grammy award winning singer met up with her husband Jay-Z backstage.

A candid photo of the pair has emerged from last night, showing Beyonce jumping into Jay-Z’s arms while he grips her in a bear hug.

MTV reports that the photo was taken and posted to Instagram by the singer’s make-up artist Joanna Simkin, along with the caption:

“Mutual gravity. Hold down and be held down. #TheCarters.”

Jay also took to social media following his wife’s explosive performance, and hilariously referred to the power outage that hit the superdome.

Joking that Beyonce had caused the blackout, the Watch The Throne rapper tweeted:

“Lights out!!! Any questions??”

His remark echoed his wife’s “Any questions?” quip at last Thursday’s press conference, where she addressed the inaugural lip-sync furor and sang the US national anthem a capella.

The significance of an event that reunited Destiny’s child, saw Alicia Keys sing “The Star Spangled Banner,” and Jennifer Hudson sing “America the Beautiful” with the Sandy Hook Elementary School Chorus — was not lost on Beyonce.

The singer posted a hand-written letter to Instagram that congratulated Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, Keys, and Hudson and spoke of her “honor” at performing alongside them at the Super Bowl.

Beyonce also posted a jubilant photo of her with Michelle and Kelly.

And the news didn’t stop there.

On Sunday evening, it was announced that the singer will undertake a world tour, “The Mrs Carter Show.”

The entertainer will launch the tour from Belgrade, Serbia, on April 15 then play European dates in Dublin, Paris, London, and Berlin. Then, it’s back to the US for a kick off stateside gig at Los Angeles’ Staples Center on June 28, before the international tour ends at Barclays Center, Brooklyn on August 3.

According to CNN, the tour is expected to run for almost a year and will extend to Latin America, Asia and Australia.

Ticket sales begin February 8 for European dates, and February 11 for North American dates. More information can be found on Beyonce.com.
