‘Alex Mack’ Star Larisa Oleynik Granted Restraining Order

The Secret World of Alex Mack star Larisa Oleynik was granted a restraining order against a fan she claims was so obsessed he changed his last name to hers.

A judge granted the restraining order against Josh Hathaway, who changed his name to Josh Oleynik, in Los Angeles County Superior Court on January 31. Larisa Oleynik said the harassment began in July 2012 when Hathaway started calling her mother and leaving gifts for the former child star at her mother’s apartment.

According to TMZ, Hathaway wrote Oleynik books and love letters, which included passages such as, “You are very beloved by me everyday. You are very precious to me … keep me on your wheel of love.”

Oleynik also said Hathaway wanted to propose to her and left her a voicemail that said he had changed his last name in 2010 in order to “build a relationship.”

In the filing for the restraining order, Oleynik said, “I feel that I am being stalked. I am worried he is unstable and could snap at any moment.”

A judge agreed with the 31-year-old actress, ordering Hathaway to stop all contact and stay 100 yards away from Oleynik and her mother until January 2016.

The Secret World of Alex Mack aired on Nickelodeon from October 8, 1994 to January 15, 1998. The series focused on the eponymous character, a junior high school student who is almost hit by a truck containing a top-secret chemical called GC-161. The chemical gives her the power to move objects with her mind and to morph into a liquid form. The only two people who know her secret are her sister, Annie, and her best friend, Ray.

Oleynik has recently appeared in two episodes of the ABC Family series Pretty Little Liars. She plays Maggie, the ex-girlfriend of Ezra Fitz (Ian Harding) and mother of his 7-year-old son.
