King Richard III Found? Scientists To Reveal Test Results On Monday

Have the remains of King Richard III been found? Scientists will reveal on Monday if the skelton discovered in a car parking lot belongs to the former ruler.

Researchers at the University of Leicester have refused to comment on the results of the test. The Associated Press reports that nothing about King Richard III’s remains will be discussed at-length until the official announcement is made on Monday (February 4).

Archaeologists, historians, and tourism officials are hoping that the remains belong to the ruler. The Richard III Society believes the confirmation could lead to increased interest into the man’s life and history.

Lynda Pidgeon explained:

“It will be a whole new era for Richard III. It’s certainly going to spark a lot more interest. Hopefully people will have a more open mind toward Richard.”

Although nothing has been confirmed about the remains as of this writing, the university previously stated that “circumstantial evidence” suggested that King Richard III has been found. Scientists are currently using radiocarbon dating and DNA samples to determine who was buried in the parking lot.

According to the Daily Mail, screenwriter Philippa Langley had a feeling she was walking over someone’s grave when using the parking lot last year. Langeley explained that she felt a cold chill as she walked over the area where the remains were found.

She explained:

“It was a hot summer and I had goosebumps so badly and I was freezing cold. I walked past a particular spot and absolutely knew I was walking on his grave. I am a rational human being but the feeling I got was the same feeling I have had before when a truth is given to me.”

Langley helped fund the excavation because she was “99 percent sure” there was something buried beneath her feet.

Do you think that King Richard III has been found? You’ll have to wait until scientists reveal their hand on Monday to learn the truth behind this intriguing mystery.
