Obama Gun Photo Released By White House

President Obama has fired a gun. The White House released a photo of Obama skeet shooting at Camp David in order to silence critics who were skeptical about the President’s experience with guns.

Last week, Obama told Chris Hughes, the editor at The New Republic, that he has fired a gun several times during skeet shooting trips up at Camp David.

Obama said:

“Yes, in fact, up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time. Not the girls, but oftentimes guests of mine go up there. And I have a profound respect for the traditions of hunting that trace back in this country for generations. And I think those who dismiss that out of hand make a big mistake.”

After Obama’s comment went public, several politicians questioned the President’s claim saying that there has never been any photo evidence that showed the President holding a gun.

Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tennessee, told UPI:

“If he is a skeet shooter, why have we not heard of this? Why have we not seen photos? Why has he not referenced it at any point in time as we have had this gun debate that is ongoing?”

Well, now there’s proof. The White House posted the Obama gun photo to its official Flickr account this morning.

The photo shows Obama firing a shotgun on August 4, 2012.

What do you think of the Obama gun photo? Are you surprised to see the President shooting a shotgun? Do you think the photo makes his argument for gun control stronger or weaker?
