Sigourney Weaver Wore Her SAG Dress Back To Front

Sigourney Weaver was roundly criticised for her choice of dress at Sunday’s SAG Awards as she was placed on top of numerous sites worst dressed lists.

But now it has been revealed why her gown, a Lanvin dress, was so hideous. It was because she wore it the wrong way round.

Styleite wrote, “The front of the dress [when worn correctly, we mean] features a deep cross-over v-neck, with a faux waist-belt detail and an asymmetrical hem, and the back is a plain high neckline with no detailing.”

“On the red carpet, it appears that Weaver wore the top part of the dress backwards, but kept the bottom half as is.”

However, it also appears that the label’s designer, Alber Elbaz, produced the dress in this fashion specifically for the actress so that she could wear it in this unique way.

Fashion critics were extremely harsh towards the 63-year-old’s attire after the event. The Gloss stated, “Sigourney Weaver’s Lanvin looked like a beautifully cut trashbag.”

Whilst the Red Carpet Fashion Awards added, “Maybe she thought the plunge was too deep so she opted for a sexy back instead. Either way between the flat back of the gown pressing against her chest and the fact that she didn’t wear a bra, she’s giving a whole new meaning to the words SAG Awards.”

Weaver’s dress is priced at around $3,500. The actress isn’t the first to attend an awards ceremony with their attire on back-to-front. Celine Dion, Amanda Seyfried, and Angelina Jolie have each been caught making this mistake in the past.
