‘Jersey Shore’ Star Chasing ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Spot

Former Jersey Shore star Deena Cortese has her next gig lined up. At least, she knows what she’d like her next gig to be. The reality starlet is chasing a spot on the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars.

MSN reports that 26-year-old Cortese, fresh of her days in Seaside Heights, New Jersey, is excited about getting back onto a reality TV program, and hopes Dancing With the Stars is her shot. Talking about her dancing desires with Wetpaint Entertainment, Cortese argued that her background as a dancer might help her land a spot on the show, as well as the Mirrorball Trophy.

“I love dancing, I always have. And I’ve been dancing for a really long time. I think I could go really far on the show.”

Cortese said that if they allowed her to pick her own dance partner, she would pick someone closer to her height (she’s a 4’11” “meatball”). She added:

“(My ideal partner would) definitely be one of the shorter guys. I think it’d look weird if I was with someone too tall. Mark Ballas would be amazing! I love him.”

If Cortese is accepted onto Dancing With the Stars, she’ll be the second Jersey Shore cast member to cut a ballroom rug. Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino did his best in Season 11, but was eliminated during the fourth week.

Fun bonus fact: Deena Cortese knew fellow “meatball” Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi before Shore. “We knew each other through [Snooki’s] ex-boyfriend. She used to date one of my friends … and as soon as we met, it was just like heaven.”
