Dennis Rodman Children’s Book Hits The Shelves

Dennis Rodman has written a children’s book.

Yes, that Dennis Rodman. The worm. The one that won three championships with the Chicago Bulls (two with the Detroit Pistons), occasionally cross dressed, dated Carmen Electra and Madonna, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Rodman was one of the NBA’s most colorful players and probably isn’t the first person that comes to mind when you think about children’s books. After all, his previous literary efforts have been dedicated to his personal experiences with sex and drugs.

But that doesn’t mean that Rodman shouldn’t be considered a role model. Or at the very least, a good children’s author.

His latest book, Dennis the Wild Bull, encourages kids to be comfortable in their own skin.

Rodman told the Associated Press:

“More than anything, I just want little kids today just to understand, ain’t no matter what you do in life, be different, rich or poor man, guess what, it’s OK to be who you are pretty much and you’ll be accepted.”

The book tells the story of Dennis, the wild bull, who gets taken away from his family and thrown into a rodeo with a bunch of other bulls. Dennis, who has nose rings and wild hair, doesn’t look like any of the other bulls. Still, this new group learns to accept Dennis for who he is.

Rodman said:

“Once I got to know the other bulls, I liked them. I enjoyed their company and stuff like that, and they accepted me for who I am no matter how I look.”
