Pennsylvania Man Breaks Out Of Jail, Heads Straight To A Bar

Burgettstown, PA – A man who recently broke out of a holding cell decided to pay a quick visit to a nearby bar shortly after his escape.

Timothy Bonner was reportedly arrested and charged with assault on Saturday. However, authorities said the 40-year-old man didn’t stay locked up for very long. According to UPI, the suspect managed to unfasten his handcuffs before knocking the cell door off its hinges. Once he was out of the cell, Bonner was able to get away.

Instead of keeping his head down and maintaining a low profile, Bonner decided to pay a visit to an area bar to quench his thirst. Once he found at seat at the establishment, he informed fellow patron Robert Smith that he had just escaped from jail.

Smith explained:

“He asked me to buy him a beer, so I bought him a beer. He didn’t even get to take a drink of it before they slammed him on the bar. He was only here a few minutes before police showed up.”

WPXI reports that the escapee paid a visit to Bill Stewart’s house and asked for a pair of shoes prior to his trip to the bar. The man remarked that Bonner must have not been properly “secured” by authorities.

Police loaded the suspect into a squad car and took him back to jail. Bonner now faces additional charges for his botched escaped attempt. As of this writing, he is still locked away at the Washington County Jail.

According to WSBT, the Washington County public defender’s office has yet to comment on the charges that were filed against the escapee.

Bonner must have taken notes from Rocky Marquez, a Michigan man who has escaped from jail twice in the span of eight months. According to the New York Daily News, Marquez is currently on the run after fleeing from the Wayne County jail on Wednesday.
